Karlie Kloss and Uggie Recreate ‘The Artist’ for Americana Manhasset
Karlie Kloss is in Donna Reed mode no more.
After channeling a '50s-era suburban housewife—albeit a ridiculously well-dressed one—for Americana Manhasset's Spring 2012 lookbook, the model is vamping it up as a foxy flapper girl in a new campaign inspired by The Artist, Women's Wear Daily reports.
The Long Island-based luxury retail group's "Speechless" catalogue for Fall 2012 sees the St. Louis native sporting a dark Louise Brooks bob and heavily lined eyes as she models opulent designs from the likes of St. John, Jimmy Choo, and Burberry Prorsum.
Kloss' Charleston-dancing ingenue also has quite the costar for the black and white shoot: Uggie, the beloved Jack Russell terrier from the Oscar-winning film.
Kloss, Uggie, male model Clément Chabernaud, and a cast of extras dressed as Charlie Chaplin and Keystone Kops will appear in a short silent film (what else?) to accompany the catalogue, which will be released in August.
In the meantime, can we work on getting Uggie some more high-fashion modeling gigs? Pretty please?
