While President Obama is vying for four more years in the White House, his fashionable supporter Diane von Furstenberg has easily bagged a fourth term as president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
"Diane has done an excellent job as CFDA president,” CFDA CEO Steven Kolb tells Women's Wear Daily of von Furstenberg's two-year extension. “The time and resources she gives and the vision she has created is a huge benefit for our organization and industry.”
And she's not the only designer with something to celebrate. Bringing its grand membership total to 427, the CFDA has welcomed 26 new members to its ranks. Welcome to the club, Joseph Altuzarra and Pamela Love!

Fellow newbie Rachel Zoe's inclusion cements her transition from star stylist to full-fledged fashion designer, while Tadashi Shoji, Lisa Perry, Vince Camuto, Lauren Moffatt, Tabitha Simmons, and Cushnie et Ochs’ Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs have also scored membership status.
Who else made the cut? LeAnn Nealz of Juicy Couture; Yvan Mispelaere of Diane von Furstenberg; Bill Blass’ Jeffrey Monteiro; Judy Geib; Rachel Dooley of Gemma Redux; Emily Current and Meritt Elliott of Current/Elliott; Loden Dager's Paul Marlow; Kerry O'Brien of Commando; Coomi’s Coomi Bhasin; Jean-Michel Cazabat; Shimon and Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia and Sons; Nili Lotan of Nili Lotan Design Studio; Judith Leiber’s Jana Matheson, and Gabriela Perezutti of Candela NYC.
Congrats all! Now, is it too early to break out the bubbly?
