Is it just us, or has the laptop become this year's most valuable accessory?

After Vogue.com ever-so-kindly live-streamed the red carpet arrivals at the Met's Costume Institute Gala on May 7, the fine folks at Style.com have announced that they will present an online broadcast of the 2012 CFDA Awards, Women's Wear Daily reports.

Though the June 4 awards ceremony—in which the likes of Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are up for top prizes—won't actually be live-streamed, it will be aired the next day alongside red carpet interviews and special web features in an effort to draw interest from non-fashion folk.

And for those who just can't wait until June 5 to find out if Joseph Altuzarra took home the Swarovski Award for Womenswear, the CFDA will be posting live updates and photos via Instagram, Tumblr, and other social media tools.

Okay, so maybe it's not quite the same as seeing Johnny Depp accept his Fashion Icon Award in person, but it's certainly a close second (and, let's face it, less likely to result in you being clotheslined by his bodyguard).
