CFDA Fashion Icon Johnny Depp Duets With Marilyn Manson
When Johnny Depp was revealed as this year's CFDA Fashion Icon award recipient, a few snickers were heard. After all, are wallet chains completely appropriate for a father of two? But while the award news might have been a bit of a head-scratcher, the latest piece of Depp intel is just deeply weird. The Tim Burton acolyte has announced that with he has recorded a duet with Marilyn Manson. And the song they'll be singing is—naturally—"You're So Vain."
When we imagine Depp and Manson's hangouts, Carly Simon isn't exactly on the soundtrack—though a strategically tipped hat and an apricot scarf certainly seem to be within Depp's sartorial wheelhouse. But the two are indeed friends of long standing: the actor brought the Goth rocker as his date to the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest premiere, and Manson contributed a song to Depp's 2001 film From Hell. Perhaps the star's turn in the upcoming Dark Shadows only served to heighten his Goth proclivities?
It seems we'll have to wait a while longer to hear Depp's song stylings: the tune will be on Manson's album Born Villain, to be released in May.
