Azealia Banks To Perform At Met Ball
In a few short years, Azealia Banks has transformed from a beleagured barista into a veritable fashion "It" girl. She played at Chanel's Paris dinner and their Japan pop-up opening, sat front row at Paris and London Fashion Week shows, and got the coveted Katie Grand nod of approval when she scored a feature in LOVE magazine. Now, the 20-year-old rapper has announced via Twitter that she'll be attending the Met Ball as Alexander Wang's date, joining an array of chic pairings that includes Isabel Lucas accompanying the Proenza Schouler boys and Lana del Rey going with Joseph Altuzarra.
Not only that, but a subsequent Banks Tweet reveals she'll be performing at the event. (Can we assume they'll bleep out some of her "212" lyrics?) Add Baz Luhrmann, Judy Davis as Schiaparelli, the live stream and the Prada treasures on display, and we're counting the days until May 7.
