Paper's Mickey Boardman Reveals His Closet for Bluefly

A custom-made Mack Dugan headdress complete with bat ears, a serious stash of Lacoste polos (with the oversized alligators—they’re “slenderizing”), and of course, and more gems and jewels than any reasonable person can wrap their head around: just a few of Mickey Boardman’s closet contents.

The Paper Magazine editorial director opened up his closet to Bluefly for its Closet Confessions series, and the treasures just keep coming.

“I came [to New York] to go to Parsons School of Design to study fashion design, and I failed a class my senior year so I never finished,” Boardman reveals in the video. “Right after I got kicked out I got hired by Paper to answer the phones. And that was 20 years ago and here I am today!”

Whether he’s channeling Auntie Mame, Daphne Guinness, or the girl who slept with the New York Rangers goalie (really!), the inimitable Boardman always has plenty of sparkle on hand.
