Alexis Bittar Taps ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ Stars for Ad Campaign
Alexis Bittar certainly knows his great dames—Lauren Hutton and Joan Collins have both fronted his jewelry brand—but he may have just outdone himself with his latest ad campaign.
Continuing a hot streak that includes a TV reunion, in-the-works film project, and a visit to Stella McCartney's holiday shop windows, Absolutely Fabulous stars Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon (aka Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders) have been cast as the most tragically hip tourists imaginable for Bittar's latest shoot, Vogue U.K. reports.
"I am a massive fan," the designer tells the magazine, which has an exclusive behind-the-scenes video sneak peek of the campaign.
"From the first episode I inherited the word 'sweetie' for five years. It got to the point where it was nauseating and I was forced to stop. I have a tremendous respect for their talent. I was beyond excited to meet and get to work with them. On set, it was one of those rare instances in my life where I was totally star struck."

Who can blame him? As the chain-smoking Patsy, Lumley rocks her signature beehive and red power suit along with an eye-catching cuff and a handful of Alexis Bittar shopping bags.
Edina, meanwhile, plays a very welcome tourist with her "I Heart NY" tee, foam Statue of Liberty headgear, black feathered collar, and generous stacks of colorful bangles. (One minor quibble: How could they not invite Bubbles?)
"Such a fabulous shoot in the glorious jewelry from Alexis," raves Lumley.
"It was sensational and I am thrilled with the pieces I have from his generous talented hands. Patsy was transfixed by the quality and wants lots more forever. I hope the campaign rocks: I am a fan for life."
