Nina Garcia joins Moda Operandi board.

Since its launch in February by Vogue editor Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir, haute e-commerce site Moda Operandi has tapped its fair share of industry heavy hitters—Taylor Tomasi Hill and Roopal Patel among them.

The designer destination's latest recruit? Marie Claire style director and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia, who will join the board.

Garcia revealed her latest fashion endeavor via Twitter.

“I have some great news to share. I'm joining the board @modaoperandi. Fashion + internet = new shopping experience," she tweeted, adding a link to invite would-be shoppers to join the members-only site.

Exactly what the new position entails remains to be seen. (Moda Operandi did not respond to our requests for comment, but the board involvement is likely to be in a consulting capacity.)

Garcia will reportedly remain at both Marie Claire and Project Runway.

This isn’t the first digital venture Garcia’s involved herself in; she is also an investor in the fashion community site Fashism.com.
