Stella McCartney Denies Nelson Mandela 46664 Collaboration
File this one under: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Despite earlier reports in Women's Wear Daily that she might be the first in a series of designers collaborating with the new Nelson Mandela-inspired 46664 clothing line, Stella McCartney is saying otherwise.
"Unfortunately the story about our Nelson Mandela collaboration is not true on this occasion," the British designer's label tweeted on September 27.

Though McCartney's partnership was never confirmed, there was a lot of wishful thinking involved.
"We would of course be honored to have someone of Ms. McCartney’s standing aligned to this incredible brand," Wayne Bebb, managing director of Brand ID, which licenses the line, told WWD.
