Karlie Kloss Poses Topless for Allure
Karlie Kloss is 19, but she’s been modeling since age 15—so you can forgive fashion folks for being a little overprotective of the girl. The model poses nearly nude in a beauty spread in Allure magazine, and some dissenters have gone so far as to call for a boycott of the photographer—Mario Testino, no less.
In several of the images, Kloss appears au naturel save for a Victoria’s Secret thong and strategically placed hands or bath bubbles. In another, she wears just a pair of sequined mini-shorts, and in yet another, she holds a cotton bra over her chest.
“No agent/agency should [any longer] allow their girls to be shot by Testino,” writes Fashion Copious, while Fashionista points out that “she’s only 19–which outside of the fashion world, is still pretty young to be posing topless in our books … we’re a bit uncomfortable with the whole thing.”
Allure could not be reached for comment.
We've seen many a child star go through similar controversies—but theirs often involve cell phone images and hacking scandals. Kloss's spread, on the other hand, was shot for an esteemed publication by a photographer who's spent 30 years in the business.
What say you? At 19, there’s certainly nothing illegal about the images, which are meant to be showcasing new makeup looks–and Kloss does look gorgeous in the images. But is she still that 15-year-old in your eyes? And if so, is that fair?
