Karlie Kloss Covers Life Magazine
Get ready for a slice of Karlie Kloss's "Life."
The 19-year-old model is covering a special edition of Life that's making the rounds at New York Fashion Week, and FashionEtc has the inside scoop from the photographer behind her smoldering shoot.
"Karlie has the poise and grace of a woman well beyond her years, with the delicate nature and manners of a sweet, young girl," Gabrielle Revere tells us. "It was absolute, pure enchantment!
Revere's black and white photo essay for the magazine sees the Dior campaign star looking classic in a sophisticated yet minimalist cover shot, while things take a dramatic turn inside as she flashes beyond-glamorous sequin-embellished eyes (and yes, we're taking notes for Halloween).
The transformation is a fitting metaphor for Kloss's journey from her native St. Louis to the couture runways of Paris.
"My inspiration for this assignment was simply Karlie, herself," says Revere. "The photo essay began with an untouched canvas. The illumination started as the story began to unfold.
"[From] the juxtaposition of her home base in St. Louis to the plethora of expectations and demands of being the star, the 'Face' that she is—that constant state of transformation—for me, can only be translated through images. An exclusive as rare as this with a young woman as original as Karlie makes me proud to be a photographer."
So what does Kloss herself have to say about her life as a top model?
”I still get so nervous, and it’s good—that adrenaline, I feed off of it," she tells the magazine.
