Gemma Ward Cast in ‘The Great Gatsby’
She’s already snagged herself small roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as well as The Black Balloon, and now it looks like model Gemma Ward will get to show off her acting chops once again with another major film: The Great Gatsby.
The Baz Luhrmann adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel will star Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire (playing Jay Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan, and Nick Carraway, respectively).
The film recently started shooting in Australia, the home of Luhrmann—and Aussie Ward.
While the beauty’s character has not yet been revealed, the New York Observer speculates that it might be Catherine, the sister of Myrtle Wilson.
