Carey Mulligan proved her style-icon status at the 2011 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in a short-sleeve black-and-purple jacquard Lurex Prada dress with a fitted bodice and full skirt.
Her dress was cinched at the waist with a black leather belt, also by the designer.
The 25-year-old actress, who accepted the Breakthrough Performance Award for her role in Never Let Me Go, got a lift from black platform pumps.
Mulligan’s blonde pixie, subtle smoky eyes, and pale lips perfectly complemented the chic Prada number.
She kept accessories to a minimum, adding understated elegance with a white gold and diamond ring by Cartier.
