Carine Roitfeld’s V Magazine Gig with Mario Testino
The Carine Roitfeld rumor mill may not be anywhere near slowing down—launching her own magazine? Working with Tom Ford?—but finally, some details have emerged on her latest project.
Page Six recently reported that the former Vogue Paris editor would be working with V magazine on its September cover story and fashion spread. Stephen Gan, the magazine’s co-founder and editor in chief, confirmed the news to Women’s Wear Daily at Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld’s art opening last week—and dished that at least one other bold name was involved.
“She wants it to be a surprise, but it’s for the September issue,” Gan told WWD. “We leave for Europe tomorrow, and we will work with Mario Testino. That’s all I can say.”
Roitfeld reportedly styled V’s 1999 inaugural cover (starring Jude Law), and recently got in touch with Gan to see if she could come back.
“My stage is always open to her and she can perform anytime she wants to on it,” he said.
