Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed for Coach.

Talk about a major Goop scoop!

As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, Coach has tapped Gwyneth Paltrow as the face of its Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 international campaigns, confirming reports that arose after she was spied visiting the company’s New York City headquarters.

The Oscar-winning actress, who cut her handbag-campaign teeth as a former spokesmodel for Tod’s, was photographed by Peter Lindbergh on the rooftop of a Midtown Manhattan building for the promos, which will encompass print, digital and outdoor advertising exclusively in select European and Asian markets.

“I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand,” Paltrow says in a press release. “I will never forget getting my first Coach bag—I am so proud to be part of their 70th anniversary celebration.”

“Gwyneth Paltrow was a natural choice for this campaign,” adds president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff. “She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand. She is an icon and I am excited to have her as a part of our ongoing legacy.”
