Madras men: Banana Republic gets its plaid on for a Summer 2011 ad
Summer is finally here—at least, according to Banana Republic.
The brand’s Summer 2011 campaign, shot by Peter Lindbergh in Malibu, Calif., shows models Elettra Wiedemann (the gorgeous daughter of Isabella Rossellini), Julia Dunstall, Ana Paula Araujo, Andrew Cooper, and Noah Mills frolicking on the beach in Banana Republic’s warm-weather offerings including floral sundresses, madras plaids, and plenty of khaki.
The campaign marks the first time the brand has worked with famed German fashion photographer Lindbergh.
“This campaign wholly embodies the Banana Republic aesthetic of modernity and stylish wit, while embracing the sentiment of summer,” said Catherine Sadler, Banana Republic’s chief marketing officer, in a release. “The contagious energy of the season is reflected in the campaign as well as in our summer collections, truly setting the groundwork for the perfect summer.”
