The fashion community is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Male model Eric Zentner, who had posed for the likes of Versace and Vogue and appeared in the video for Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold," was killed in a hit-and-run accident March 26, Fox News reports.
The 30-year-old is said to have been on the way to his mother's home when his vehicle ran out of gas outside of Santa Barbara, Calif. Witnesses say he exited his car and was fatally struck at 3:45 a.m. by another motorist, who fled the scene.
California Highway Patrol officers are looking for tips to help them track down the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a light blue Dodge Caravan from the mid-'90s.
"I hope they [the driver] can bring it to themselves to come forward and admit it to themselves," the model's cousin Zach Zentner told Fox. "They need to do something about this and say, 'This is what happened.'"
According to his Model Mayhem profile, Zentner had been modeling since 1999, counting H&M and Nike as clients.
"He has been very fortunate with his career, and after a long break from the industry, is back and ready for an entirely new adventure," the profile says.
Our thoughts go out to Zentner's family and friends.
