Rihanna and her red hair are giving us scarlet fever with the April issue of Vogue.

Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, the 23-year-old Bajan singer covers the magazine's 10th annual Shape Issue in a sheer, floral-print Chanel gown that, fittingly enough, puts her famous curves front and center.

Inside, the pop star hits the beach in diaphanous dresses from Lanvin and Chloé as well as a red-hot ruby Hervé Léger cutout swimsuit paired with Alexander Wang booties.

And though she rocks bright red waves and crimson lips for most of her shoot, one photo sees her switching it up in a burgundy pixie wig and a navy Donna Karan bodysuit.

Set to star in her first feature film, Battleship, Rihanna credits acting with helping her find newfound confidence in her body.

“Over the holidays, and even during filming, I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book," she says. "I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.”

Attitude adjustment: Rihanna looks fierce in the April issue of Vogue.

Now enjoying life with a fiery new 'do ("There are very few women who can dye their hair Bozo the Clown red and still look so cool, so beautiful," a fashion insider tells the magazine), the cutting-edge star also opens up about her adventurous style.

“It’s become more about taking a risk," she says. "When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me. I think that’s the thrill in fashion.”
