Off to a good start: AnnaSophia Robb gets into character at Lela Rose's Spring 2012 fashion show.

Couldn't help but wonder who could possibly play a young Carrie Bradshaw? Well wonder no more.

AnnaSophia Robb will step into Sarah Jessica Parker's heels as the younger version of our haute-to-trot heroine in The CW's upcoming Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Robb, an 18-year-old blonde best known for films like Charlie and the Chocolate FactorySoul Surfer, and Bridge to Terabithia, will have the chance to sink her teeth into more adult fare as she tackles the New York City dating scene circa the 1980s.

Stefania Owen, formerly of Running Wilde, has also been cast as Carrie's 14-year-old sister. Where has she been hiding?

Though the show is still in the pilot stage, it counts former Sex and the City writer/co-producer Amy B. Harris as a showrunner and shares producers with Gossip Girl.

Fingers crossed the show gets picked up. After all, if the thought of Baby Carrie trotting around in '80s-era Azzedine Alaïa and Christian Lacroix doesn't scream "must-see TV," what does?
