Meryl Streep Joins Green Carpet Challenge With Eco-Friendly Oscars Dress
We thought Meryl Streep might have picked her gleaming gold Lanvin gown to channel that iconic little gold Oscar statue—but it looks like there’s a more noble sentiment behind the Best Actress winner’s dress.
Streep teamed up with Colin Firth’s lovely wife, Livia, for her Green Carpet Challenge, the ongoing effort to make sure each of Firth’s awards- show-circuit dresses are eco-friendly, recycled, or responsibly sourced.

The Telegraph reports that Streep’s custom Lanvin was created with eco-certified fabrics, while Firth herself sported a custom Valentino gown made of recycled polyester from plastic bottles.
