A little R&R: Ryan and Rosie are one hot couple in the new Marks & Spencer Autograph ads
Ryan Reynolds, fashion model?
Just days after Reese Witherspoon emerged as the star of Swedish label Lindex’s campaign, British retailer Marks & Spencer has tapped the Hollywood heartthrob to star alongside model/actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (fresh off her racy Burberry Body shoot) for its Fall 2011 ads.
The Autograph print ad campaign sees Reynolds, looking smoldering in a dark coat paired with a V-neck sweater and a scarf, wrapping a protective arm around Huntington-Whiteley, who rocks a dusty rose blouse, dark skirt, and animal-print handbag.
Photographer Greg Williams snapped the striking images in and around London’s swanky St. Pancras Grand, suggesting a couple just back from a romantic Paris weekend.
"I was thrilled when M&S asked me to be in their campaign and Rosie was a pleasure to work with," the actor says in a press release. "I’m from Canada and grew up with the M&S brand. Going into an M&S store with my family or friends always gives me a beautiful pang of nostalgia. The Autograph collection is a modern take on the classic style I love and feel most comfortable wearing. The pieces in this collection are lasting staples that’ll never go out of style.”
“I am extremely excited to be working with M&S on the new Autograph Autumn 2011 campaign," adds Huntington-Whiteley, who also sports a houndstooth-print coat and berry-hued wrap dress for the shoot. "I feel proud to be associated with a British high street favorite that holds fond memories for so many people, particularly the Autograph brand. The collection is sophisticated, elegant, and effortless, which I hope to embody in own my personal style."
The A-list campaign marks a dramatic departure for M&S, which typically features Twiggy and other British personalities in its ads. Male model David Gandy has also been recruited to front the brand this season.
"Rosie and Ryan are the perfect fit for Autograph—beautiful, exclusive, and absolutely contemporary," says M&S executive director Steve Sharp. "On set, they worked together to deliver a mesmerizing performance which allowed us to capture shots that literally sizzle with excitement and an air of mystery."
Sizzle is right!
