Kris Jenner’s QVC Clothing Line
The, er, tree doesn't fall far from the apple ...
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is following in her daughters' footsteps by launching a clothing line for QVC, Women's Wear Daily reports.
Not surprisingly, the Kris Jenner Kollection is set to make a huge entrance by débuting during QVC's live Fashion's Night Out broadcast on September 8.
Of course, Mama Kardashian is hardly a QVC newbie. In addition to offering exercise equipment on the channel with husband Bruce in the 1990s, she played a supporting role when her daughters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe—who just launched the Kardashian Kollection for Sears—kicked off K-Dash for QVC earlier this year.
Now, it's all about mom, with Jenner's own wardrobe providing inspiration for the line, which mixes chic basics like black leggings and blazers with printed scarves and bold tops with cut-out and stud details.
“I’ve wanted to do a collection my entire life," she tells WWD. "I love the pieces that I wear, and they’re very successful for me, for my lifestyle. ..."
"We are constantly getting e-mails and tweets about where to get our clothes, so finally I can send fans to QVC to buy exactly what we are wearing, because these are all the pieces I will be wearing next season."
The collection, which will launch with five pieces before expanding in October, will range from $35 for a T-shirt to $140 for outerwear (such as a burgundy satin-finish trench Jenner says is her "favorite") and party dresses. Big earrings, another "Kris klassic" will also be included.
And Jenner foresees a long future in fashion for her family.
“Where we are going with all of this is to be very active in the fashion world,” she says. “I think to be designing clothes and to expand that into home and children and jewelry and accessories … that’s where I see us going, to a place where we can keep evolving as designers and giving people a little of our own personalities. All our lines combined hit every age demographic and body type. It’s a great one-stop shop.”
Hmm. We wonder if the girls' green bridesmaid dresses for Kim's big day will inspire a wedding collection. Make it happen, ladies!
