OPI Signs Deal With Mariah Carey
From the Muppets to Minnie Mouse, OPI nabs the real-life Ms. Mariah Carey for its next nail collaboration.
Following a line with Nicki Minaj, the nail brand is going for another chart-topping vocalist for its next line of lacquers.
WWD reports that the superstar singer signed on for two nail polish collections, both launching next year.
The first collection of eight shades will hit OPI salons, spas and retailers worldwide in January, followed by another collection later in the year.
After taking some time off to get married and give birth to twins, Carey is slated to make a comeback with a new album releasing soon, so the timing of her beauty collab could not have been better planned.
Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, executive vice president and artistic director of OPI tells WWD, “Nails are part of her personality. I really have always looked for celebrities for whom nails are very important, and it is not something you just Photoshop on a picture. She was very much part of the color selection.”
