Blake Lively Débuts Red Hair
Fashion’s golden girl isn’t so golden anymore.
Though she’s known for her long, blonde mane, actress Blake Lively débuted a new strawberry blonde shade at the Time 100 Most Influential People party April 26.
Styled in loose waves, her red hair made a striking contrast against Lively’s ocean blue Zuhair Murad gown. Pale pink lips and coppery peach eye shadow complemented the dye job.
So what’s the “gossip” on the new hue? Elle U.K. speculated that Lively has been cast as Glinda the Good Witch in Oz: The Great and Powerful, which calls for a redhead, but the star tells People, “It’s for the film Hick. I thought [my character] needed red hair. It helps when you’re playing a role, when I don’t feel like myself. And I don’t really feel like myself with red hair.”
Colorist Rona O’Connor is the woman behind Lively’s red ’do, and, the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle handbag spokesmodel says, “I love it. I feel like Ariel.”
