Fashion designers’ idea of boardroom apparel doesn’t always fall on the “appropriate" spectrum, unless you work in the kind of environment where high-waisted leather shorts are the norm. However, Milan played host to a playful suiting trend that, with some real-world adjustments of course, could play at the office (if not, you know, on The Office.)
Miuccia Prada revived her ‘90s geometric prints (can she please bring back her ‘90s Prada Sport designs next?) on a series of slim pantsuits. Meanwhile, Marni’s numbers featured the black-and-gold color combo that was trending at the Academy Awards. At Aquilano.Rimondi, Tommasso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi followed suit with double-breasted jackets and cropped pants that came in muted prints. Other houses jumping on the bandwagon: Emilio Pucci, Versus, Gianfranco Ferré, Genny and Antonio Marras. It's definitely a trend worth implementing office-wide; just make sure you don't clash with your co-workers!
