Stick a fork in 'em, they're done. Less than a year after signing on as head designers for Vionnet, twins Barbara and Lucia Croce have "interrupted their collaboration" with the French label—which counts Diane Kruger and Madonna as fans—following a reported falling-out with new owner Goga Ashkenazi, Women's Wear Daily has confirmed.

And while we can think of more than a few designers who could use some work (Stefano Pilati, John Galliano, etc.), the fashion house has declined to replace the Croce sisters, choosing to move forward with an in-house design team. The Spring 2013 collection will be shown as scheduled on September 28 in Paris, while a 100th anniversary event and presentation is slated for September 30.

So will Vionnet eventually enlist another head designer, or will it go the Maison Martin Margiela route and stay in-house? And just where will the Croce twins land? Watch this space ...
