The rumors are true! After a successful run with Stella McCartney, Gap has teamed up with another star designer for a high-fashion spin on its GapKids and babyGap lines.

Gap by Diane von Furstenberg, which will launch for Spring 2012 at stores in over 30 countries and online in 75 countries, will offer the DVF’s famously liberal use of color and print—in pint-sized versions. This is the designer and CFDA president's first foray into children’s clothes.

“As a proud mother and grandmother I am so excited to create a capsule collection for children with the superstar retailer, Gap,” von Furstenberg said in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to build on Gap’s successful past collaborations and develop this collection with Diane, a true American fashion icon and inspiration to women around the world,” said Art Peck, president of Gap North America. “I’m also looking forward to offering our customers an exciting collection that applies her signature approach to print, optimistic color and femininity, mixed with our expertise in great quality premium children’s clothing at accessible prices.”
