Resort 2012: Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg cruise 2012 runway show

Diane von Furstenberg's cruise 2012 collection was set against a graphic backdrop—fitting as the collection itself was graphic and inspired by street culture. Prints! Colors! So much green and orange! Ladies, if you like wearing comfortably slouchy togs that are also effortlessly chic, DVF's got you covered.

Crepe wrap jumpsuits (in a mishmash of greens), crepe de chine dresses in Skittle-hues of orange and lime, pink blouses, and a powder blue blazer were eye catching to say the least. But the colors aren't so overpowering that they can't actually be worn. The intent, the show notes say, was to pair the "shocking jolts of orange, blue, and green" with black  "so they can be worn virtually anywhere…." Lime might be bright but paired with a neutral gray, it's a nice contrast.

Those of us who piled into the show in all black (ahem) just might have to rethink a few things….
