Daniel Craig chats up Tom Ford at a 2009 Oscar party.
Sure, he's got those smoldering good looks, knows how to whip up a wicked martini, and has the skills to take out any evil assailant (cough, cough ex-boyfriend) he wants. But would James Bond really get us so hot and bothered if he just wore any old thing?
We may never know, as 007 has an arsenal of Tom Ford suits at his disposal in the latest Bond film, this fall's Skyfall. The film marks Ford's second stint as the secret agent's designer of choice, and, according to a new interview with Mode.

"I was very excited when I was first approached by [film producer] Barbara Broccoli about dressing Daniel Craig as James Bond," Ford tells the magazine. "I worked with [Skyfall's costume designer] Jany Temime on creating the perfect classic wardrobe. I have been dressing Daniel for some time and know that he looks best when simply dressed, so we did some beautiful suits, tuxedos, and daywear. We didn't really modify our suits, as James Bond is a bit like our guy—classic and extremely elegant."
Ford also reveals that he's 'thrilled with the way that Daniel looks in Tom Ford' after seeing early clips of the upcoming film.
And Bond's not the only retro icon the designer counts as an inspiration.
"It's impossible to name all my style icons, but I am constantly inspired by Cary Grant and Steve McQueen," he says.
"I am fortunate that every leading man I would love to dress wears—and buys—Tom Ford. Brad Pitt has been an extremely loyal customer since the onset of the brand, and I am happy to dress Daniel Craig, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, Ryan Gosling, and Will Smith, among many, many others."
Of course, only one of those guys has a license to kill.
