DVF Fall 2012 Accessories

I've made no secret of my undying love for accessories. Get me in a room full of shoes and bags and I will be a happy, happy girl. Today I was lucky enough to see the Fall 2012 preview of DVF's runway and accessory collections. (Read our runway review!)

Those fun bags that delighted us during Fashion Week were even more intriguing in person. Popped open, they reveal a fantastic mirrored component. So smart.

Breaking fashion news: Ferragamo did its first ever Pre-Fall collection this season. And it was gorgeous. Think luxe Hitchcock heroines on a train with chic capes, wide-brimmed hats, and skin. Lots of skin.

I'm not talking about showing skin, I mean luxe skins. Croc, ostrich, buttery leather. The bags were pure heaven: croc train cases. Yes, actual train cases. Who wouldn’t enjoy traveling with chic luggage like this? Now if only I could figure out how to carry one as a purse and get away with it.

Milly Pre-Fall 2012

It’s official: Nothing’s more cheerful than Milly.

On a gorgeous New York day, editors leaving the labe's Pre-Fall 2012 press preview certainly had a spring in their steps—sparked by a hot pink-and-black graphic silk tunic.

Sure, a crisp white button-down might be the most classic article of clothing around, but can it put a smile on your face?

Designer Michelle Smith also offered pink, black and gray Jackson Pollack-esque prints done in a sporty nylon fabric, bright coats, and plenty of black and white shift dresses—both work and cocktail-appropriate.

stella mccartney pre-fall 2012

Only Stella McCartney can get the fashion glitterati down to NYC's West Village on a brisk January evening. (And a Monday at that.)

The designer presented her Pre-Fall 2012 collection, though the clothes were less presented so much as worn by willowy models who milled around the restaurant. (It was held at One if by Land, Two if by Sea on Barrow Street.) Nothing quite like standing amidst a group of models to boost one's self-esteem.

But onto the clothes. Pretty, as you'd expect from Stella. Floral gowns, chic prints, and, of course, the Stella blazer. The tuxedo will never go away, and, for that, I am thankful.
