Fall 2012 Beauty Trend: Nude Lips

Beauty looks from the Tommy Hilfiger, Costello Tagliapietra and Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 runways.

Less is more when it comes to beauty for Fall 2012, and nothing is more compelling than nude--lips that is.

While flirty, bright hues of just-wanna-be-kissed peach and pink are usually reserved for Spring, Fall often brings more drama to the pout, with a constant battle between the always glamorous red and the classic nude.

Although the rouge lip has undeniable sex appeal, the au naturel look has its own element of chicness.

From the model pouts we've seen on the runways, it seems like natural nude is in for the Fall 2012 season.

At Derek Lam, Tom Pecheux, creative makeup director at Estée Lauder, paired a soft crystal pink lip with glowing skin and a gentle smoky eye for an overall appearance of low-key luxe.

The beauty inspiration at Prabal Gurung was a balance of good and evil/dark and light, so a barely-there angelic looking lip was contrasted with a statement metallic "Avatar" blue eye. A dab of cream highlighter on the lips and cheekbones gave the skin a fresh and dewy appearance.

Nude lips at Costello Tagliapietra were complemented with a sleek, pulled back hairstyle and softly tinted peach cheeks for a clean and polished appearance. The natural beauty vibe accentuated the whimsical look of the collection, with designs that floated down the runway with such ease.

The beauty look at Tommy Hilfiger was raw and real, reflecting the designer's signature classic American style. A simple coat of lip balm was paired with soft blush and a loose ponytail for a look of refined minimalism and equestrian-inspired ready-to-take-the-reins confidence.

So put away your go-to rouge because come fall, you're going to grin and bare it.
