Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, and Thakoon looks from Net-a-Porter's Runway to Green collection
Eco-friendly fashion addicts showed up in droves March 29 at New York City’s Rockefeller Center, where Net-a-Porter unveiled its brand-new Runway to Green collection at Christie’s Bid to Save the Earth event.
Diane Kruger arrived on the arm of Jason Wu (wearing head-to-toe Fall 2011 Wu, of course), with models Karolina Kurkova and Angela Lindvall, designers Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Jenna Lyons, and Rachel Roy, social types Fabiola Beracasa, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Zoë Kravitz, and even SNL funnyman Seth Meyers showing up to lend their support.
Of course, the bold-name attendees weren’t the only spectacle: The runway showcased earth-friendly looks by the likes of Prada, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen on an all-star model lineup of Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Jourdan Dunn, and 16-year-old Lindsey Wixson, who sported a serious wedding ensemble by Oscar de la Renta.
And when the fashion world pitches in, the celebration doesn’t stop halfway: a green-haired (naturally!) Nicki Minaj closed the evening with a blowout performance.
Proceeds from the sale of each item benefit Alliance of Climate Protection, the Natural Resource Defense Council, and the United Nations Environmental Programme’s Billion Tree Campaign. Here's your chance to pick up Prada's trompe l'oeil boots from Fall now!
