Tom Ford Womenswear Hits Retail
The secret is finally—officially—out. Tom Ford’s highly anticipated womenswear collection (his first since departing Gucci in 2004) has made its way to the sales floor.
Racked perused the selection, which launched at Ford’s Madison Avenue, NYC, boutique on March 7. “Extremely polished” sales associates, who offered shoppers champagne while browsing, reportedly outnumbered shoppers “about fifteen to one…one of whom ended up tailing us the entire time as if we were suburban teenagers skulking about the makeup aisle in a local CVS.”
The selection includes all the creations worn by the likes of Beyoncé and Julianne Moore in the celebrity-studded runway show (see above video) last September, which ranged from a $1,350 black turtleneck to a $6,000 bronze cocktail dress—not for the faint of heart.
In addition to apparel, the store offers a full selection of shoes and handbags, including “an intricately molded gold peep-toe stiletto shootie” and a “fabulously fringey pochette in black.”
