Julianne Moore Covers InStyle in Tom Ford
With her daring, sheer violet Tom Ford dress and fluffy, cotton-candy-pink wrap, Julianne Moore is a breath of spring on the March cover of InStyle magazine.
And while the redheaded actress has never looked hotter, she admits there are days when she doesn’t feel so sexy.
“I think you need to be away from your children [laughs]. Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life,” she tells designer Ford, who interviewed Moore for the magazine, and, of course, directed her in 2009’s A Single Man.
“I can feel that way when I’m alone with Bart or when we take a trip,” the mom of two says of director husband Bart Freundlich.
“But the day-to-day of picking up kids and going to the eye doctor and then dropping them off at basketball and then going to the middle school concert, that stuff doesn’t make you feel very sexy!”
Inside the pages, the face (and body) of Bulgari and Talbots models pieces from Dior, Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton, but she opts for comfort when away from the camera.
“I have a terrible habit of staying in my yoga clothes all day,” she says. “I’ve had girlfriends yell at me. I have this fantasy that I’m going to dress well for daytime, but it doesn’t seem to manifest.”
That could be something to add to her to-do list since turning 50 on December 3.
“One thing a 50th birthday does is say, All right, time is marching. You have these things you’re happy with and proud of. But if there’s something you haven’t done that you’ve been waiting to do, then by all means, don’t want any longer,” she says. “Do it!”
