Oscar de la Renta Giving Away Samples of Esprit d’Oscar on Facebook
Thumbs up to Oscar de la Renta! The designer is celebrating the launch of his first new fragrance in 10 years by giving away free samples to fans who "Like" the fashion house’s Facebook page.
Esprit d’Oscar—which the Daily Mail describes as “‘a floral-oriental fragrance’ with notes of citrus, jasmine, orange flower, and tuberose, with a warm base of musk, heliotrope, tonka bean, and vetiver”—is set to arrive in stores in two weeks but some lucky women will be privileged enough to get a preview of the perfume.
Leading up to the scent’s official launch, the label will give away free samples of Esprit d’Oscar to the first 5,000 individuals who click “Like” on the Oscar de la Renta Facebook page. But you better act fast, because the fragrance is already popular among the stylish set, including models Hailey Clauson and Karlie Kloss, who got a whiff backstage at de la Renta’s New York Fashion Week show in February.
“It’s a very fresh, feminine, nice clean smell, which I like,” said Clauson. Added Kloss, “It does smell amazing—I want more! … It’s quintessentially Oscar—really classic and elegant.”
Michele de Bourbon, Oscar de la Renta’s head of marketing for fragrance, tells Mashable the Facebook campaign was initiated so that fans who can’t afford a $4,000 cocktail dress from the designer could still “experience the world of Oscar.”
In that case, maybe Clauson and Kloss will let us have their bottles? Just sayin'.
