Kate Winslet Goes Platinum for Vogue U.K.
She's got her Oscar gold. Now Kate Winslet has set her sights on platinum perfection.
The British beauty is showing off a bold new bleached faux-pixie 'do courtesy of Orlando Pita on the April cover of Vogue U.K.
Photographed by Mario Testino, Winslet—last seen sporting warm blonde highlights on the April cover of Glamour—channels classic blonde icons like Kim Novak and Edie Sedgwick with her light strands and dark brows. Though her hair appears to be cropped, inside images suggest the shorter look is courtesy of a few strategic bobby pins.
Modeling a black viscose-knit Roland Mouret dress and a backless white number for the monochrome-themed shoot, the newly divorced Lancôme ambassador opens up about being single.
"[It's an] empowering thing," she tells the magazine.
"Experiencing those moments of being alone ... is a very, very weird flooring and exposing position to be in when you're just not used to it. And it's not just being in a relationship. It's also the fact that I grew up in a family full of people."
"I've never been lonely. And with kids Mia and Joe that remains the case. But to be in this place now where I can say I really like this space. I really need to not have anyone around. It's a surprise to discover that I like being on my own."
