Entitled The White Collection, Mouret's debut bridal collection launched today on Net-A-Porter.com with five different styles in a white and cream color palette. With cutout details, curve-hugging silhouettes, plunging necklines and flirty ruffle and drape embellishments, the designs offer a sleek and sexy modern spin on the traditional bridal look.
"I wanted to create something that is about you and your partner, a one-to-one private relationship with the dress—not just something to please friends and family," the designer told Vogue U.K. "I want my bridal dresses to be a bit sexier."
Known for his luxe, body-conscious approach to dressing, the French designer told Net-A-Porter.com, "I try to achieve magic when I'm designing. I wanted these dresses to be right for women of different ages. The key is that they are not girly. When someone gets married in France, we say they go from mademoiselle to madame and I think that's very important. A wedding dress shouldn't be too sexy, it must have an attitude, but still have a purity to it. That's why I've stayed away from meringue shapes—no ornate embroidery, no heavy lace. The dresses must allow movement and also allow someone's personality to shine through."
