This coming November marks W Magazine's 40th anniversary and to celebrate the magazine is coming out with 4 different covers featuring 4 leading actresses to pay tribute to each of the decades in its history.
The magazine, which launched in 1972, selected Rooney Mara as their hommage to the 70s where she dons an oversize hat and geometric vest from Prada's 70s-inspired Fall 2012 collection.
Mia Wasikowska takes on the 80s in colorful Solange Azagury-Partridge earrings and a Balenciaga wool jacquard bustier. She also dons a cropped fiery-red wig recalling a young Annie Lennox.

The 80s tribute sees Scarlett Johansson on it's cover, where she sports a grey and black dye job, a punky nose ring, and a Dolce & Gabbana silk lace dress that shows off her mega cleavage.
And finally, Keira Knightley nabs the 2000s looking particularly elegant in a Chanel braided tweed jacket and a light blonde Sharon Stone inspired 'do.
Each cover girl was shot by Steven Klein and was asked to share their favorite memories or thoughts from their given decade. Scarlett Johansson recalls her admiration of Chris Farley, while Keira Knightley shares her love/hate relationship with miniskirts and skinny jeans.
The issues hit newsstands October 23rd, and you better believe we'll be snapping up all four issues.
