Lanvin's Fall 2012 Ad Campaign.

From pugilistic models to dance parties to slithering snakes, Lanvin can always be trusted to go against the grain with its seasonal campaign ads.

This time, the French label has a cast a group of non-models—including a waiter, a bad-ass blonde, and an 80-year-old former showgirl who once dreamed of being a model—for its Fall 2012 ads shot by Steven Meisel, Women's Wear Daily reports.

"There was something very democratic about the approach," creative director Alber Elbaz says of the decision to use a mix of male and female unknowns ranging in age from 18 to 80. The campaign stars will also appear in a viral video set to be released on August 21.

"I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes,” Elbaz adds. “It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.”

And what family would be complete with a playful pooch in the mix? A shaggy white dog poses amongst the glammed-up non-models and their assortment of luxurious bags in the striking images.

Should Gisele and Kate be worried? You never know ...
