Chloé Plots Exhibition, Capsule Collection for 60th Birthday
Turns out Queen Elizabeth II isn't the only one who knows how to throw a big 60th anniversary blowout.
Chloé will celebrate its 60th birthday this fall with an exhibition, party, book, revamped Paris flagship, and—deep breath!—a capsule collection featuring reedition styles, Women's Wear Daily reports.
The festivities will kick off on September 28 with the opening of the as-yet-unnamed Paris exhibition curated by Judith Clark and creative director Clare Waight Keller.
Running through November 20 at the Palais de Tokyo, the exhibition features 70 pieces from the French label's more storied designers (Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo, Stella McCartney, etc.), including 16 outfits which will be tweaked and sold as a capsule collection for next spring.
Dubbed a "collage of ideas" by Waight Keller, the exhibit will be accompanied by a digital retrospective for those who can't make it to Paris.

"This is not an archive of ballgowns," the designer says. "This is an archive of women’s wardrobes through the eras ... You sense a different woman through the different eras, but she’s always had a Chloé spirit to her."
Waight Keller will draw on the archives for her Spring 2013 runway collection, which is slated to show on October 1. The collection will have a "French" sensibility, she teases.
The party continues into November, when a 4,300-square-foot new-look Chloé flagship will be opened on Rue Saint-Honoré.
Finally, Fall 2013 will see the release of a coffee-table book devoted to the label's history. Hear that, Santa?
