Mickey Drexler Documentary to Air Thursday on CNBC

Your wardrobe is full of J. Crew and you’re a Jenna Lyons superfan—but how much do you know about the man behind the brand?

Mickey Drexler, dubbed the “king of retail” by CNBC, is the subject of a new documentary, J.Crew and the Man Who Dressed America, airing this Thursday. In addition to interviews with the likes of Lyons and Anna Wintour, the doc follows Drexler from his New York offices to the brand’s Italian clothing mills, his Hamptons home, and on location in Palm Springs for a shoot for one of J. Crew’s beloved catalogs.

“[J. Crew] just didn’t really enter the conversation before Mickey was there,” says Wintour in a trailer for the show. How’s that for an endorsement?

The hourlong documentary airs May 24 at 10 p.m. EST on CNBC.
