Oh, how we love it when Anna Wintour makes the talk show circuit! While she usually only appears for Fashion’s Night Out promotions, the Vogue editor has been making the rounds recently to talk about the Costume Institute’s Schiaparelli and Prada exhibition—but on a show like The Colbert Report, that’s not all that was on the agenda.
After greeting the famously reserved Wintour as “tough guy,” Stephen Colbert started grilling Wintour on her power in the fashion industry—until Wintour cut in with a perfectly icy: “Don’t you think you could take a few more risks with the way you’re dressing?”
The banter went on to cover President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage, Schiaparelli, The Devil Wears Prada (“That movie was so last year,” Wintour said), and even ended with Colbert and Wintour making a date to indulge in some fried seafood at Long John Silver’s while clad in "zebra-striped sweatpants."
