Marchesa Contemporary Collection Confirmed
The rumors are true! Marchesa fans on a budget, we’ve got some good news for you: the haute eveningwear line has teamed up with manufacturing company Li & Fung to launch a contemporary collection.
The collection, which is yet to be named, will include clothing and accessories and retail between $150 to $750—a far cry from Marchesa’s main line, which typically starts in the four figures.
“It’s going to be under the Marchesa umbrella, but with a slightly different feel,” designer Georgina Chapman told Women’s Wear Daily. “We have been so specific for such a long time, and the idea to broaden out to a different consumer, and to our same consumer as well. We haven’t really looked at that market yet. My dream is to give Marchesa many facets, and that’s just one of them.”
The collection will launch for pre-fall 2013.
