Jason Wu On His Canvas Furniture Collection

Jason Wu for Canvas ivory loveseat, $4,800.

As though we weren’t already coveting a Jason Wu-stocked wardrobe, now we’re dreaming of a Jason Wu-designed apartment as well.

The designer has created a capsule collection of furniture and home goods for Canvas, the New York-based interiors shop. From loveseats and ottomans to accessories like a pendant lamp, vase, and throw pillows, Wu’s collection has all his signature touches—just in a different medium.

“I think it all starts with a point of view,” Wu told FashionEtc at the launch of the collection on Wednesday night. “Designing interiors is a natural next step for me. I’ve always considered myself a lifestyle brand, and now I can really represent that.”

In addition to the Canvas collection, Wu recently launched a scented candle with Nest, and has even designed his own faucet in collaboration with Brizo.

“It’s really interesting for me to explore where [the Jason Wu woman] lives, her environment,” he said. Of course, it’s not just about the Jason Wu woman—it’s Wu himself, too: “Where she wants to live is where I want to live as well. I’m redecorating my showroom with it!” he said.

Jason Wu for Canvas throw pillows, $140-$160, dining table, $3,500, and side chairs, $1,290 each.

The collection, which ranges from $140 for a lace-embellished throw pillow to $4,800 for the love seat, is available to order in Canvas stores now. And though it’s a one-off collection, don’t be surprised if Wu branches into home design again very soon.

“I love doing it; it’s so much fun,” he said. “If I could do the Jason Wu universe, I would do it.”
