Rumor Alert: Stefano Pilati for… Armani?
It’s only been a day since one of the biggest fashion mysteries of the recent past has been solved (that would be Raf Simons's new slot at Dior, for those with exceptionally bad short-term memories), and already another has begun swirling.
Journalist Jim Shi tweeted yesterday: “My sources are telling me Stefano Pilati is headed 2 Giorgio Armani w/ the intention to assume full creative reigns when GA retires. #dope.”

While it’s true that Pilati’s next move is up in the air since his recent ousting from Yves Saint Laurent—replaced by former Dior Homme maestro Hedi Slimane—we’ve got no real reason to believe that Giorgio Armani is going anywhere. (Retirement rumors have abounded for the 77-year-old designer for years, but they’ve been just that: rumors.)
For now, we’ll take this one with a grain of salt—and hope that Pilati lands somewhere fabulous very soon.
