Last month Harper's Bazaar gave us Jennifer Aniston interviewing Nicole Kidman. Now it's March cover girl Kim Kardashian's turn to play reporter.

The curvaceous reality star—looking ravishing in a red Donna Karan dress for her cover shoot—interviews Elizabeth Taylor in a Q&A for the magazine, while paying tribute to the acting legend in a fashion spread inspired by Taylor's famous role Cleopatra (make that "Cleopatra with a K," Kardashian giggles).

"I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands," Taylor tells Kardashian.

"For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else. I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things. But I have never felt more alive than when I watched my children delight in something, never more alive than when I have watched a great artist perform, and never richer than when I have scored a big check to fight AIDS. Follow your passion, follow your heart, and the things you need will come."

The star also opens up to Kardashian about her favorite jewels (the Prince of Wales plume pin, bought at the Duchess of Windsor auction in 1987), modern-day actors (she's a fan of Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell), and her best style moments.

"I loved the Edith Head lavender dress that I wore to the Oscars in 1970," Taylor says.

"It was designed around the Taylor-Burton diamond. Some of the Cleopatra costumes were fun—they even had real gold threads—and I wore them as evening dresses afterward. I also loved some of the great caftans that I wore in the '60s and '70s with big sunglasses and major jewelry. I love to be casual and comfortable, but I also love the easy glamour of wearing jewelry all the time."

Speaking of Cleopatra and lots of bling, Kardashian got into character as the Queen of the Nile for photographer Terry Richardson, vamping it up in a blunt black bob wig paired with headpieces from Alexis Bittar, Fallon, and Lynn Ban.

Reality royalty: Kardashian as Cleopatra in Harper’s Bazaar.

She wore slinky dresses from Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino Cheap & Chic, and the Ralph Lauren Collection, with heavy winged eyeliner completing her look.

Kardashian also talks to the magazine about her fondness for Gucci, Givenchy and Céline, and her beauty secrets.

"I do rely on having a full face on," she says of her makeup obsession. "But I get that this"—she gestures to her face—"is more fashion. It's hard to let go. But then I think the glam can be my fashion. It's my own accessory."

Of course, it's not just makeup that has been on the beauty menu. She also admits to trying Botox, which was documented on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"All my friends had done it, and I was curious," she says. "But I saw such a change in what my face looked like. It didn't work for me. Someone told me yesterday that I needed it. That is so ridiculous."

The Sears collaborator also comes clean about her strained relationship with Paris Hilton.

"We don't really talk," she reveals. "As I always say, everyone comes into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. And she was in my life for a long time. There comes a point in life where you just grow apart and you realize you're not as similar as you thought. And I never run into her anywhere. Isn't that so weird?"
