When it rains, it pours!

For its Whatever the Weather Issue, i-D is unleashing a whirlwind of cover shots that include its Asian model tribute to Chinese New Year and appearances from the likes of Stella Tennant and Lara Stone.

Now Victoria Beckham has been added to the fashionable forecast, gracing i-D's ninth (phew!) and final cover in a stunning black and white shoot with photographer Josh Olins.

Though her accompanying fashion spread sees the designer flaunting her post-Harper bod in sexy bodysuits and hot pants from Rochas and Balmain, she didn't need to go far for the jaunty black cap and LBD she sports on the cover—it's all from her own Victoria Beckham label.

Pictured rocking smokey eyes and sipping from a straw (and yes, we're dying to know what's in that striped mug), the former Spice Girl opens up about how her fame has helped her be a better designer.

"I’ve stood on many a red carpet and been photographed from every angle, so I know how important it is for a dress to be flattering," she tells the magazine.

"I don’t follow fashion and I don’t follow trends, I just follow my instincts and think what do I want to wear? What am I feeling for next season?"

And though her racy photo shoot might suggest otherwise, Beckham insists that she grown to embrace a looser, less overtly sexy silhouette (Exhibit A: her vibrant Spring 2012 shifts).

"When I started it was all about the corset dress," she says.

"That’s what people associated me with, and possibly if I’m honest a sign of my own insecurities as well. But the older I get and the more comfortable I am in my own skin, the more I realize that to look great and feel great I haven’t always got to wear something tight.”

Let's hope husband David doesn't take up that advice!
