Looks like Hollywood got the memo: More neutrals, please!
Pale, bridal-inspired looks made a soft but striking impact on the red carpet at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 29, kicking off with E! presenter Kelly Osbourne in an Old Hollywood-esque Badgley Mischka Couture Pre-Fall 2012 white matte crepe gown boasting a gold tasseled belt and delicately embroidered shoulders.
Julianna Margulies, meanwhile, was a vision in dove gray thanks to her strapless embroidered Calvin Klein Collection gown, which she paired with romantic waves.
A nominee for Best Actress, Viola Davis also went for soft waves and bare shoulders, rocking a strapless ivory Marchesa number featuring a gold embroidered bodice, plus Jimmy Choo heels.
Kristen Wiig and Rose Byrne were more bride than bridesmaid with their off-white creations. While Wiig's willowy halter-neck Balenciaga gown and sleek side-parted 'do threatened to be upstaged by her bold Fred Leighton choker which dominated the look, Byrne channeled Elvira Hancock with her blunt bob and sparkling Elie Saab jumpsuit. (Who says you have to wear a dress?)

While Lea Michele flashed some major leg in her corseted, slit-to-there Versace dress in pale gray, Octavia Spencer's Tadashi Shoji gown proved that a more covered-up look can be just as sexy.
Paired with a glamorous bun, the silvery gray number boasted a short-sleeved embroidered top and figure-flattering draping at the waist.
Other stars working the pretty and pale trend? Tilda Swinton (in a slinky, pleated Lanvin with a plunging neckline) and Zoe Saldana, who wowed in an ivory Givenchy Haute Couture Spring 2012 gown that's fresh off the runway.
But who better to pull off the bridal trend with 30 Rock star Katrina Bowden, who celebrated her day-old engagement with a new rock on her ring finger and a lovely strapless white Amsale gown with a floral tulle overlay. Never too early to start road-testing those dresses!
