A sneak peek at Sophie Theallet's uniforms for the Gramercy Park Hotel.

She’s collaborated with Gap and Nine West, but Sophie Theallet’s latest partnership is decidedly more swanky: the Gramercy Park Hotel.

The French designer (and first lady favorite), who was recommended by hotelier Aby Rosen’s stylish wife, Samantha, was tapped to create uniforms for the waitresses at the NYC hotel’s Rose Bar and Gramercy Terrace.

"I was so delighted to be approached by Samantha for this project,” Theallet said in a release.

“The Gramercy Park Hotel is such a chic New York landmark. I love all the art work and the nonchalant spirit of the place, I wanted my designs to reflect the interior’s richness with a touch of sensuality."

The result is a knee-length, draped dress in stretch silk crepe—developed to be stain-proof to avoid waitress’ occupational hazards—that comes in a bright red with exposed orange lining or a midnight blue with black lining.

Theallet isn’t the first designer to reimagine GPH's uniforms; Narciso Rodriguez created the initial designs when Rose Bar opened in 2006.
