Sneak peek: Karl Lagerfeld photographs Alice Dellal for Chanel's Boy handbag campaign.

A girl who’s made a partially shaved head de rigueur among the edgier style set may not be the first person you'd think of to front a Chanel ad campaign, but this is Karl Lagerfeld we're talking about after all.

The fashion house has confirmed that 24-year-old Alice Dellal—model, musician and heiress, as well as sister to Charlotte Olympia designer, Charlotte Dellal—is indeed the face of its latest handbag collection, Boy.

“The designer had a crush on this unique, charismatic young lady, who is both a model and musician, during a photo shoot several months ago,” the brand announced in a press statement.

“Alice Dellal represents the perfect incarnation of all that is unique about the Boy Chanel handbag collection which strives far from conformist notions of femininity.”

A behind-the-scenes shot of the campaign shows a dolled-up Dellal, complete with red lips and bow-tied braid, posing in an ornate house, but we'll have to wait for the final ad to see it her shaved hairstyle makes an cameo.

The ad campaign, shot by Lagerfeld, will be revealed in March 2012.
